One of the favorite parts of my job is having the chance to speak with architects and designers about their latest design innovations using stone and tile. I truly get excited when a "cool" project with great photography lands on my desk. It interests me to learn about the design goal, and in particular, the reasoning for material selection. Right now, I'm getting ready to cover a new resort in Las Vegas that features a lavish display of stone throughout its interior and exterior. Perched on a plateau five miles west of Wimberley, TX, a private residence offers its owners sweeping views of the Texas Hill Country. And to create the rural feel that fits with the surrounding landscape, an extensive amount of native Texas limestone was combined with distressed wood for the design. Full article

Stone Technologies unveils new sustainable stone products
WOBURN, MA -- The adage, "Waste not, want not," took on new significance as Stone Technologies unveiled its new sustainable design product, Butcher Rock™, at its first annual "Go Verde" gala event, which was held last month. Tile of Spain Awards of Architecture and Interior Design competition call for entries
VALENCIA, SPAIN -- Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers' Association (ASCER) is launching the eighth edition of the Tile of Spain Awards of Architecture and Interior Design competition.
